Airline Transport Pilot Program

OCFC's Airline Transport Pilot program is designed for students who can fly full time — a minimum of three days a week, five hours a day. Students who need scheduling accommodations for employment or university can train the same programs under Part 61 or Part 141 on a flexible schedule with longer completion times.

The program takes you through every certificate in sequence: Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot License (single-engine), Certified Flight Instructor, and CFII — with optional Multi-Engine Commercial and MEI. Upon completing programs 1 through 5 you are eligible to be hired and paid to instruct at OCFC, building flight time to the 1,500-hour airline requirement. OCFC guarantees such employment to eligible standardized domestic candidates.

THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS. Admission is open 12 months a year with new-student training commencing on the first of every month; flight training hours are 8 AM to 8 PM every day, including weekends and holidays. Evaluate your eligibility and financing; complete the Domestic Student Enrollment Application; attach a copy of your passport (or permanent-resident / visa documents with TSA approval); pay the $250 application and processing fee; select your program and payment plan; attend orientation in person or online; and begin training on the first of any month.

PRICING. Rate Sheet F (full-time Part 141): Private $21,300 · Instrument $11,670 · Commercial $33,340 · CFI $13,650 · CFII $6,040 — total tuition $86,000, including 20 hours of simulator time. Debt-Buster E6 accelerated program: $55,000 lump sum (not available in CA) or $2,500 down + 24 × $2,500 + $200 final ($62,700). Estimated non-tuition expenses of about $2,865: TSA registration $130, fingerprinting $100, FAA medical $150, FAA records and scheduling $320, course materials $1,200, FAA written exams $165 each, checkrides $800–$1,200 each. Optional Multi-Engine Commercial $14,335; housing and transport $750–$1,200/month.

OCFC trains with the King Schools companion app, Cessna companion app for iPad, ForeFlight Business Pro with logbook, and Schedule Pointe. Students receive OCFC shirts for active training and lockers from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Requirements

At least 16 to solo and 17 for the Private certificate; U.S. citizen or TSA-approved; proficient in English; able to obtain an FAA medical; able to pay fees of up to $2,500 at a time in advance for aircraft rental and instruction.
