Financing
Becoming a pilot is an investment. OCFC maintains affiliations with financial institutions that help students finance their flight training, and our team guides you through the options so you can focus on training.
STRATUS FINANCIAL. OCFC has partnered with Stratus Financial for flight training financing. You may apply for a loan to cover some or all of the costs of our programs. Stratus offers full financing for your entire flight training and more, affordable payment options including deferment for 12 months while you complete training and find a job, and the ability to pay off the loan at any time without penalty. Please note: because fees paid from financed funds are 100% refundable if unused in a good-cause dropout, Rate Sheet A applies strictly to financed students. Financed students may participate in block-rate and discounted programs only if the financed funds deposited will be flown off completely and the program completed; no refunds are made on unapplied or unused discounted funds.
AOPA FINANCE. AOPA offers financing for its members who have an income; terms and rates vary with credit score, and you may apply with a co-borrower. Loan amounts scale with gross monthly income by credit tier. Call 1-800-872-2672 or apply at finance.aopa.org/flight-training-finance.
FLIGHT TRAINING FINANCE. A private lender specializing in financing flight training for private pilots — a good option for beginners or add-on certificates, though not always the best fit for the professional pilot program. Each license or rating gets a separate loan, and each must be paid down 50% before the next is opened. Call 1-800-667-0201 or email info@flighttrainingfinancellc.com.
PAY AS YOU GO. You do not need a loan to train at OCFC. Keep just $500 in your account to stay active, pay for training in blocks as you fly, and take advantage of Block Rate Credits and the Course Completion Discount Credit. See the Debt-Buster Programs for no-interest installment plans.
